A short film about Helping Hands Monkey Helpers.

In 2007, we were commissioned by AARP to create documentary videos for their new website.  This was our first introduction to an unusual local non-profit, Helping Hands Monkey Helpers.
For this short film, we spent a day filming in the monkey college with the trainers, a day with monkey foster-parents Susan and Brad Keyes, and a day with Craig Cook, a Helping Hands recipient in California.

Client: AARP
A film by Cary & Yari Wolinsky

Helping Hands Monkey Helpers is a national nonprofit serving quadriplegics and other people with severe spinal cord injuries or mobility-impairments by providing highly trained monkeys to assist with daily activities. Through the generous support of donors and volunteers, their monkeys are placed at no cost with disabled people and their families. For more information, please visit
